Instagram is Making Its Case As The Home Of Superfans

What's Up

Instagram: the home of music superfans. At least according to a Luminate report… funded by Instagram (wait a minute). Ok, so there might be some bias there, but this one's surprisingly hard to argue with. 58% of music superfans live on Instagram, and about a third of daily music users on the app are superfans.

So What

Artists who stay active on Instagram see a 10% increase in streams everywhere. That's not nothing. Unlike TikTok, which is like hookup culture, Instagram is where the real long-term relationships are.

Now What

You saw the facts; now stop treating Instagram like an afterthought. Post consistently, reply to people, and build something authentic. The world has enough posers.

You Might Need To Start Taking Albums Seriously Again

What's Up

Is the album dead? Nah, we just weren't using it right. Just ask Charli xcx, Bad Bunny, and Rosalia. They're proving that a fully realized album can still hit in a world obsessed with singles. Brat became a moment and landed in the public zeitgeist. We're talking about months of conversation, a remix run and, yes, a mockumentary.

So What

"But of course albums work for the big names; they're popular," we hear you grumbling. Here's our advice: those artists are tied to major labels, and major labels are sloooowww. That's your advantage as an indie. You move fast and break stuff; no regrets.

Now What

Give people something to step into, to experience. Start with a great idea and execute. Let the album shape everything else. Then go physical to give people something to hold onto. Whatever you think your fans need, go with that.

Your Next Promo Play: A Scavenger Hunt?

What's Up

In the mood for a scavenger hunt? PassPass, the "#1 viral giveaway platform in America" (their words, not ours), is looking for artists. They launched PassPass for Artists, where artists can submit tracks for review, and if selected, their songs get featured in their events nationwide.

So What

Now if you've been looking for a promotion opportunity, this one's staring you in the face. PassPass claims they have 100 million monthly song plays on Instagram and 2 billion plays since 2025.

Now What

Submit your song for review through PassPass for Artists. It's free, based in the US, and the worst that can happen is they say no. Artists like BigXThaPlug already tested it out. The door's open, but don't let the room get packed.

While You Were Making Music…

🧠 This man is making music using his brain implant [we might just be living in the prequel to Blade Runner, guys]

💸 TikTok and Cameo partner for in-app fan monetization [we're going to get so many clips of influencers saying some out-of-pocket things, aren't we?]

🥱 Chartmetric warns the pop slump has continued into 2026 [yawn, wake me up when the next breakout hit comes]

One Thing To Do Today:

Submit your track to PassPass for Artists. It's free and could put your music in front of 100 million monthly listeners. Sure, they might say no. But they could say yes, and your song ends up in a scavenger hunt across America.
